So in my last blog I talked about how the we were preparing to take off to Jacksonville to play our first game. Well that seems like such a long time ago now. That may sound silly but the season seems to fly by so fast. So let me give you the update thus far of the team.
We started off really well we won our first two games in Jacksonville and looked like the team to beat out of the gate. Unfortunately that did not last very long and we then lost seven of our next nine. Turning us into the team that everybody beats. It was unbelievable how we just could not find a way to win. It was starting to get to everybody and we were all frustrated. Then we played Ball State to extra innings and while we lost it showed us that we are good and can play with anybody.
We then began our winning ways again. We have won six straight games including two big wins against Elon and NC State just this week. We have played really well only giving up only twenty-one runs in the last six games and scoring sixty-two runs on offense. We have done everything right so far and are back to our winning ways. I personally got to pitch against Elon at their place and I threw very well. I threw seven innings and struck out eight batters it was great feeling because they are a huge rival of ours.
I can not wait to get back on the field again this weekend when we play Rhode Island here in Wilmington. I encourage anybody in town to stop by I promise it will be worth it.

Daniel,
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see that the season has turned around. I know the better ya'll do the more people will come out. It is unfortunate that it takes victories to bring in fans but hopefully people will realize that UNCW has a wonderful program. It seems that both of our blogs were about UNCW baseball this week. Funny how that works. Rhode Island has put up a good fight so far but I know the team will get through it. Good luck tomorrow and the next time you pitch. I will be there.
PS you should read my blog... its about you!
That is so great that you guys had such a fast turn around, I think that is the hardest thing to do. It is easy once you start losing to hang your heads and get mad and just keep losing. But you guys picked up so fast and so well. That is awesome, UNCW athletics needs you guys do well, our other sports are not doing so hot, except swimming of course. Glad you played well though, i'll make sure to make it to your next game! Good luck
ReplyDeletewell glad you started off the season on a good note. its still early and I am sure yall havent had a time to find the rythm. And yes hopefully more people will show up and support the team. UNCW has a great program and I will be out there soon. I am sure scalf wont except to many more losses. But yall have a long way to go in the season and i am sure it will turn around soon.
ReplyDeleteGo Seahawks!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you boys fell into your rythm. It is hard to pick yourself back up after a run of losses, but it sounds like you boys have it under control.
I can not imagine playing sports at college I can barely keep up and I am home every night at a descent hour. You athletes certainly have some great time management skills. I appreciate you representing our school the way you do and for giving 100% on the field. I can tell that you are passionate about baseball just in the way you type and it is exciting to read each week!
Keep Up the Good work and Thank You Again!
